[BEAUTY] Bourjois Délice de Poudre

bourjois make up

For the past few weeks I’ve been trying out Bourjois’ latest bronzing product: Bourjois Délice de Poudre. I’ve actually been trying the duo version which includes a highlighter with the bronzer.

Bourjois Délice de Poudre

I’m a huge fan of bronzer. In the summer I don’t wear anything else but a quick sweep of bronzer and a little blusher on my face. So this is pretty perfect for me. The highlighter is great as it adds a little more definition. (The instructions inside the case for where to apply are helpful – particularly if you’re new to highlighters.)

As an even bigger bonus, this bronzer has the most delicious chocolate scent – it smells, quite literally, good enough to eat!

In addition to the bronzing duo, I’ve been trying out the Contour Clubbing Eyeliners. The turquoise will be great for beachy looks, used alone and applied thickly. I’ve actually been using the bronze shade with a neutral eyeshadow for day wear make-up. It looks a little more subtle than black or brown liner whilst still framing the eye.

[BEAUTY] Christmas Party Look

20131217-133654.jpgThe festive season is well and truly upon us – I have my tree and decorations up now! With the festive season, often comes invitations for festive parties. I’m all about minimalist and quick and easy make-up looks. Anything that takes more than five minutes and I’m not interested! So I’ve rounded up my five must-have Christmas make-up products:

  • Bourjois Liner Feutre – I love this liner. It’s the best combo between a liquid liner and a pencil. I’ve not got a steady enough hand (or the time!!) to use liquid liner but I still like the effect and this does that.
  • MAC Pigment in Vanilla – I’ve had this pot of powder in my make-up bag for years. It works as an eyeshadow and a highlighter. If I’m wearing a darker shadow, I use this on the brow line to highlight. If I’m focussing on my lips, I’ll wear this as an eyeshadow. It can also be used on cheek bones as a highlighter too.
  • Bourjois Twist Up The Volume Mascara – this innovative twist mascara is brilliant for creating big, long and luscious lashes that are party perfect.
  • Boots No7 Gel-Look Shine Nail Colour in Golden Sands – this metallic polish is the ideal accompaniment to your festive look. This new gel finish by No7 provides high shine and is long lasting.
  • Boots 17 Miracle Matte Foundation – this foundation makes sure you keep matt no matter how much you dance or how long you stay out.

What make-up do you swear by for the festive party season?

[BEAUTY] The Summer Edit

Do you change your beauty regime with the seasons? I try to. Even if not intentionally, it usually happens without me even realising it.

I hate anything too heavy on my face, whether it be summer or winter. But in the summer I want even less than usual. Whilst in winter I’ll happily wear tinted moisturiser, BB cream, or, even occasionally, foundation, in the summer I do away with all of these. I ensure I get my SPF cover with a light moisturiser and a little colour from a bronzing palette.

On holiday, I use even less. I ramp up the SPF and give up everything else!

It’s funny because I always always use Boots No7 eyeshadow in Mink. Whatever time of year and whatever I am doing, it just gives the right natural base. For me. sometimes I layer a little of a darker brown, like Truffle, over it. but usually I leave it. throughout the winter I’ve been adding a dark brown eyeliner along the lash line at the top and bottom – and then smudging the bottom line. Now that it’s summer though, I’m suddenly using my Rimmel Exaggerate Waterproof Eye Definer to create more of a flick. And I love the look. But it’s a little harsher. Maybe I’m compensating on the lack of skin coverage.

Again, on holiday I don’t wear any eyeshadow but I did use my Boots No7 metallic eyeliner in green.

I never go without mascara if I’m wearing make-up. My lashes are super long but they are very straight, do I curl them and then like to use the blackest black mascara I can find. Right now I’m using the newest Boots No7 Stay Perfect mascara. I always love a new mascara to try and this one is definitely ticking my boxes – adding volume and creating black, impact lashes! As a bonus for the summer, this new mascara is waterproof, tear proof, humidity proof and smudge proof!

I definitely like to play up my eye make-up so I either leave my lips bare, with a little balm, or I use Bourjois’ Rouge Edition lipstick in Rose Tweed.

[BEAUTY] Bourjois Radiance Reveal Healthy Mix Foundation

I’ve recently been introduced to Bourjois’ make up collection and the latest product I’ve been trialling is the Radiance Reveal Healthy Mix Foundation:

I usually wear tinted moisturiser or No7’s BB Cream, so I’m not a massive fan of heavy foundations. Thankfully, Bourjois’ Radiance Reveal Healthy Mix Foundation is a lightly creamy formula which glides on easily. I prefer to use my fingers these days to apply my foundation and this works well. It gives good coverage without caking. The smell is light with a little fruity-citrus scent.

Have you tried Bourjois’ Radiance Reveal Healthy Mix Foundation? Or any other Bourjois make up? What should I try next?

[BEAUTY] Bourjois Rouge Edition Lipstick

Whilst at the Handpicked Media suite at One Aldwych last weekend, I was introduced to Bourjois’ new lipstick collection, Rouge Edition. A collection of 18 shades to complete any make-up bag: from pretty pinks to on-trend nudes, hot oranges and bright reds, to pale lilacs.

I’ve been trying out No4 in the collection: Rose tweed. It’s a lovely natural pink hue which just adds the slightest colour to my natural lip shade. The lipsticks are highly pigmented but don’t lose any gloss as a result. It also doesn’t dry out lips as I find with a lot of lipsticks and so my lips aren’t uncomfortable after wearing.

Have you tried a new lipstick recently? These Bourjois lipsticks?

[LFW AW13] Zoe Jordan AW13 Beauty by Bourjois

London Fashion Week’s Autumn Winter 2013 season was opened by designer Zoe Jordan’s show at the BFC Space at Somerset House on Friday morning. The collection for AW13 featured a fairly muted monochrome palette which was accented with brighter neons in hot pink and orange.

The beauty look for the collection was clean and simple and feminine. With an emphasis on a subtle sweeping cat-eye liner. Bourjois were the brand behind the look and I was lucky enough to meet up with two of their make-up artists on Saturday whilst at the Handpicked Media suite and get a little demonstration of the look: Continue reading “[LFW AW13] Zoe Jordan AW13 Beauty by Bourjois”
