For me, no matter what the trends showcased on the catwalks at Paris and Milan are for Spring/Summer, I always tend to gravitate towards anything even a little boho when the sun eventually comes out. Sienna Miller in her early days as an actress is my reference point for the look. So it should come as no surprise really that Antik Batik, the brand which practically bases its entire look on the boho aesthetic has become my latest obsession!
Italian-born Gabriella Cortese, set up her brand Antik Batik in Paris in 1992 after a trip to Indonesia. It is easy to see the eastern influences in her designs. Dyed silks, beaded embellishments and fringes are all a part of Cortese’s designs.
I first spotted these sandals over on Pinterest and decided immediately that they should be mine! I even blogged about them last month. Shoes are the one place that I will often experiment with colour/embellishment/style. I eventually found them – in my size – at Spartoo and snapped them up! As they are a flat design they can easily be worn during the day, on holiday for sight-seeing and look dressy enough, with the beading, to wear in the evening too. My perfect kind of shoe!
What is your summer look?
