[AW14] Autumn Ankle Boots Wishlist

It’s definitely autumn and that means it’s time for ankle boots. I am officially obsessed with ankle boots at this time of year – they are so easy to wear with virtually everything. I’ve picked out my current five fav pairs from the high street:

autumn ankle boots

  1. Clarks Marta Griffin ankle boots in midnight suede: I love the colour of these boots! They turn a regular pair of Chelsea boots into the ultimate statement!
  2. Topshop Advent Box Chelsea boots: these are classic and timeless. The slightly shorter version will make them even more versatile.
  3. Boden cosy desert boots: how warm do these look? I am totally lusting after these for cold winter’s days now.
  4. Hush low suede back boots: the colour of these make them really wearable and I like the buckle detail too. These are heading straight for my Christmas wishlist!
  5. Next shorty Western boots: these are totally on trend and will see you right through the season.

What is your go-to footwear for autumn/winter?

[AW14] Hush Dress Wishlist

I love discovering new brands – and then sharing on here, obviously! Hush is a brand I’ve been aware of for a while, thanks to the lovely pieces that The Online Stylist often wears, but I hadn’t placed an order. 10% and free delivery and returns was enough to get me to try them out and order a couple of the dresses I’d been lusting after for a while now.

  1. The Rosie dress combines a knit jumper with a floaty skirt for the perfect winter outfit;
  2. The Iris shirt dress is a relaxed option for the office with heels, or at the weekend with the addition of winter knits and ankle boots;
  3. The quilted dress offers the drop-waist style that Hush dresses seem to specialise in and the quilting adds texture and interest;
  4. Finally, the drop waist jersey dress is a perfect alternative to the LBD for a casual chic look.

Throughout October, Hush are offering 10% off everything – as well as specific additional offers each week – so make sure you get your orders in quick! What will you buy?

Make sure to check back soon to see which dresses I chose and how easy they were to style!

[CHRISTMAS WISHLIST] 5 Pairs Of Shoes For Your Festive Party

20131125-224051.jpg

The festive party season is upon us (or very nearly!) and so the dilemma of dressing up in the cold ensures. More on what to wear in another post very soon. Today it’s all about the shoes – the most important part, of course! For me, I like to choose my shoes and work my look around them, so they really are the starting point of any party outfit.

I’ve picked four pairs that’ll get your feet ready to party.

Shop the post: #1; #2; #3; #4; and #5.

1. Sequins – what could say “part-ay” better than sequins? Try a pair of sequinned peep-toe court shoes?
2. Embellishments – or if sequins are too much, try a pair with an embellishment.
3. Shoe boots – when it’s cold outside, keep your feet toasty in a pair of heeled shoe boots.
4. Glitter – if, like me, you’re a flats girl really, choose a pair covered in glitter for your Christmas party.
5. Folding flats – after a night of dancing in your favourite heels, give your feet a break on the way home and tuck a pair of practical but pretty Butterfly Twists into your handbag.

What will you be wearing on your feet this party season?

[WISH LIST] Joseph AW13

20130910-163154.jpg

Autumn is nearly upon us and so it seems like a good time to look to the catwalks from earlier in the year to reflect upon the offerings for Autumn Winter 2013. Fashion brand Joseph presented a cool monochrome collection infused with splashes of bright oranges and pinks. It’s a palette that appeals to my simple tastes. If you hadn’t noticed already, I choose my looks based on ease and all black looks are a particular favourite of mine.

This time of year appeals to my love of layering too and so – in spite of the price tag – I am a little bit in love with the gorgeous sheepskin gilet (#1) which would keep you warm and stylish on a chilly day out.

This year I’m challenging myself to add accents of colour to my looks so that I can continue to wear my all black outfits but with added panache! A splash of neon pink is definitely on my wish list now.

I’ve picked out five of my favourite pieces from the Joseph AW13 collection that I’ve quickly added to my “if-ever-I-win-the-lottery-wish-list”!!

[WISH LIST] Pilgrim Jewellery I Want Now

One summer a few years ago, my mum took me to Paris for the first time. I had somehow managed to get to 25 and had never been. She, on the other hand, had lived there as a teenage au pair many moons ago! So we rented an apartment for a few days (that we’ve since returned to and plan to again – another story!) and spent a wonderful few days wandering around Les Puces de Saint-Ouen (flea market) at Porte de Clignancourt, soaking up the atmosphere in the streets of Montmartre, taking boat trips on the Seine and visiting the Eiffel Tower!

Of course, any trip to Paris is not complete without a little shopping (try a late evening stroll along the Champs Elysees where the shops stay open till 11 and later!). At Galeries Lafayette my mum treated me to a gorgeous heart-shaped locket by Danish jewellery brand, Pilgrim. I have loved it ever since and now alternate it with the Tiffany necklace that my fiancé later bought for me.

Whilst perusing the Treasure Box website earlier this week, I came across an extensive collection of Pilgrim jewellery, much of which has been reduced too!

I’ve picked my top five pieces for your shopping pleasure:

[WISH LIST] Five Shoe Boots For Autumn Winter 2012/13

Winter dressing for the office can be a minefield as you try to keep warm and appropriately dressed. I posted my top tips for office attire in the cold last winter but footwear is always a little more problematic. Recently I have discovered the supreme practicality and the beauty of a pair of shoe boots for winter office attire. And this week I have rediscovered a pair of Clarks lace-up heeled shoes that work well for winter as they’re nice and enclosed and are so comfortable!

Clarks shoe boots

The dark blue suede means that they go with almost anything I choose to wear and the cut out details offer a little more interest. But their comfort is the biggest bonus: the slight platform at the front of the shoe and the padding inside the sole makes for a pair of shoes that I can happily wear all day – and all evening, if required! [WISH LIST] Five Fedoras For Autumn Winter 2012

Hats are one of the quickest and easiest ways to not only keep warm in the colder months but also to update your look. I love my faux fur Cossack style hat for adding a little something to an otherwise dull or plain outfit. But this season, I’m craving a felt fedora to update my look:
