[BEAUTY] Boots No7 Autumn 2014 Make Up Collection

boots no7 autumn make up collection

The end of the summer is drawing near and autumn is around the corner, can you believe it? Seems like forever since the real cold of winter and I’m not looking forward to it. Usually around this time of year I start to tire of my summer wardrobe and begin to dream of lovely layers and knits and ankle boots. Not so, this year. I’d like to carry on wearing my sandals and shorts for another few months please! Alas, it is not to be.

One thing I don’t mind so much about the changing of the seasons is the new make-up collections. Boots No7 have just released their autumn collection for 2014 and it’s a good one!

I do love a dark nail polish (4) and so this collection definitely taps into this with Black Patent and Blue Patent shades to choose from. If you’re not sure and need a way to wear these without feeling like a goth, try No7’s glitter top coat which looks great with a darker shade underneath.

Additionally, the new collection taps into the smoky eye look with a trio of shadows (1), In The Navy, to great a navy version of this classic. No7 have uploaded this handy little guide on how to do it to their Facebook page:

If you’re a lip girl, the new matte lip crayons (3) will be right up your street for autumn/winter. The deep berry shades, of Raspberry Red and Raspberry Wine, will complement darker seasonal dressing. As will the new pop and glow cream blush stick (2) in Watermelon which is much darker than the popping pink from the summer collection.

[BEAUTY] Bourjois Délice de Poudre

bourjois make up

For the past few weeks I’ve been trying out Bourjois’ latest bronzing product: Bourjois Délice de Poudre. I’ve actually been trying the duo version which includes a highlighter with the bronzer.

Bourjois Délice de Poudre

I’m a huge fan of bronzer. In the summer I don’t wear anything else but a quick sweep of bronzer and a little blusher on my face. So this is pretty perfect for me. The highlighter is great as it adds a little more definition. (The instructions inside the case for where to apply are helpful – particularly if you’re new to highlighters.)

As an even bigger bonus, this bronzer has the most delicious chocolate scent – it smells, quite literally, good enough to eat!

bourjois contour clubbing eyeliner

In addition to the bronzing duo, I’ve been trying out the Contour Clubbing Eyeliners. The turquoise will be great for beachy looks, used alone and applied thickly. I’ve actually been using the bronze shade with a neutral eyeshadow for day wear make-up. It looks a little more subtle than black or brown liner whilst still framing the eye.

[BEAUTY] #MyNo7Feeling Favourite Products

#myno7feeling favourite 7 products

After 7 days of looks by No7 I thought I’d pick out my 5 favourite products from all of those I’ve tried over the past week:

Mascara:

I tried three different mascaras over the week. I had thought I’d like the Lash Impact mascara as it had the biggest brush and apparently thought bigger went better but I was wrong.

My favourite mascara of the three from this week was the Extreme Length mascara. The thin brush actually gave better length and curl to my lashes and helped them frame my eyes really nicely.

Eyeshadow:

The quad in purple haze was definitely my favourite eyeshadow. I love the different shades and the possibilities of the different looks.

Blusher:

Like the mascara, I tried three blushers this week. I surprised myself by liking the pinkest shades the best. My favourite of the two pinks was the cream stick blusher. It goes on the easiest with no need for added tools and gives a lovely long-lasting colour.

Nail polish:

This is purely based on colour choice as they were all the No7 Stay Perfect Nail Colour. Right now I’m really liking the classic red but come winter I think the purple blackcurrant shade will become a firm favourite.

Lip colour:

I tried a lot of lip colours this week. The one thing that this week has done is encouraged me to try lipsticks more often. My favourite was probably the No7 Shine Temptation lipstick as the pale pink was very subtle while it felt very moisturising. But the No7 BB Lips Beauty Balm is a very close second.

Which is your favourite?

[BEAUTY] #MyNo7Feeling: Round-up and Look 7

Today’s the last day of #MyNo7Feeling challenge. 7 days of 7 different looks by No7.

From tomorrow I’ll be without any make-up kit to tell me what to wear! (So I’ll likely go bare until I can work out how to do my make-up again – ha!)

The last look in the challenge is bright berry shades. This is just about the right amount of bright and bold for daytime for me:

I’ve kept my face pretty simple today again, using a little bronzer and a little of the No7 Natural Blush Tint Powder in Coral Flush.

Lips and tips are matchy matchy, with another No7 High Shine Lip Crayon, this time in Berry, and No7 Stay Perfect Nail Colour in Temptress.

I thought it’d be fun to see all of the different looks from the week together in one post:

#myno7feeling 7 days

From pretty pinks to bold blues and smouldering purples to classic reds, this week has had it all.

I’m finding it hard to choose a favourite. I’ll probably fall back into old habits of using simple subtle shades, like the pinks from earlier in the week but I’m going to make the effort to use the purples and reds for special occasions.

Which is your preferred look? Check back tomorrow for my favourite products from the week’s challenge!

[BEAUTY] #MyNo7Feeling Day 6: The Look

#myno7feeling day 6

A little late, I know but you know what they say…

Yesterday’s look was matching classic reds. I went to my first blogging event since we moved last night at the Bullring in Birmingham (more on that soon).

Yesterday’s make-up was all about a bright red lip with bright red nails! I have to say that I’m still not sure about a bright red lip for me, personally I just feel too self-conscious.

I’m already a fan of No7 Stay Perfect Nail Colour – it’s long lasting and quick and easy to apply. The brushes were changed not so long ago to be wider which makes applicaiton so much easier. This red is great for day-to-night wear.

For my face, today it’s another pink blusher, today in powder form. The pale pink is again a favourite as it gives a lovely healthy glow.

What do you think of today’s matching lips and tips?

Day 6 of #MyNo7Feeling challenge and we’re nearly there. Can you believe it? Today’s look is all about the classic red:

#myno7feeling look 6

No7 Stay Perfect Lipstick in Love Red makes a statement particularly when matched with No7 Stay Perfect Nail Colour in Devil’s Delight. No7 Natural Blush Tint Powder in Cool Pink gives a very subtle and healthy glow.

I’m liking this look today. This challenge is really taking me out of my usual comfort zone and I’m loving trying new looks each day.

What do you think of the challenge? Do you stick to what you know or try new looks for your make-up?

[BEAUTY] #MyNo7Feeling: Day 5 – The Look

#myno7feeling day 5

All week I’ve been challenged by Boots No7 to create a different look every day for 7 days. As soon as I saw this set for day 5 of the #MyNo7Feeling challenge, I knew that I was going to create a smoky eye with this purple quad shadow.

#myno7feeling day 5

For work today I used the bottom left shade in the No7 Stay Perfect Quad Eyeshadow in Purple Haze as a wash across the whole lid and then the bottom right shade for the crease to add a little depth.

For a more dramatic look, I will be using the much darker shade, top right, along the lash line and smudge it all a bit more for a lived in look.

I used the the No7 Extreme Length Mascara to really give volume and curl to my lashes to frame the eyes.

What do you think of this look? What colours do you use to create a smoky eye look?

When I first saw the make-up for this week’s challenge this was definitely my favourite. I love purple make-up and using it to create a smoky eye so I was actually quite excited about today’s look.

The No7 Stay Perfect Quad Eyeshadow in Purple Haze is great when used all together or can be used separately for a more subtle look if that’s your thing. I’m out for dinner with some girl friends at the weekend and think this smoky eye look will be my make-up choice.

For work, I think I’ll be going to a slightly more subtle take on the smoky eye!

The purple quad shadow is complemented by No7 Stay Perfect Nail Colour in Blackcurrent and No7 Extreme Length Mascara.

What’s your favourite eyeshadow shade?

[BEAUTY] #MyNo7Feeling: Look 4

#MyNo7Feeling look 4

#MyNo7Feeling look 4

Look 4 in the #MyNo7Feeling challenge is blue. Or to be more precise, turquoise. The shades remind me a little of a peacock! With this in mind and the fact that I rarely wear more than a little blusher and mascara to work, I decided to rock this one for Monday night drinks “down our local”!

#myno7feeling look 4

I already own a few of the No7 Stay Perfect Eyeshadow and I really like their high pigmentation and blendability. I piled it on right across the whole of the eye lid. I think sometimes if you’re going to go bold, you might as well go all out.

The No7 Stay Precise Liquid Eye Liner is new to me but my, does it have staying power! So much so that it wasn’t the easiest to remove but it definitely stayed put all evening. This would be a great one for clubbing – could totally see myself using this for a night out in Ibiza.

The polish is another peacock inspired shade. Can totally recommend No7 Stay Perfect polishes for their chip resistence and for their block colours. I rarely use anything else on my toe nails in the summer.

I wasn’t entirely sure about the bold blues when I first saw them but they have grown on me. My top tip for wearing this look is to keep everything else very simple: a little blush, a little mascara and a pale lip.

What do you think of this look? Are you a fan of blues?

[BEAUTY] #MyNo7Feeling: Look 3

As we saw this morning, today’s look is “Pretty In Pink”. I wasn’t very sure about this look – thinking it would be a little too pink and girly for me. But I’ve been pleasantly surprised. The No7 Pop and Glow Cream Blush Stick looks so pink in the packaging but once on, it gives a gorgeous healthy glow that I just loved.

The No7 Sheer Temptation Lipstick is lovely to wear and, surprisingly, I didn’t feel as self-conscious in it as I expected I might. In fact I’ve even been topping it up over the course of the day to make sure the pink stays put! Actually, this lipstick is pretty sheer and glossy so feels like more of a lipgloss than a lip stick.

If I’m honest, the idea of matching my nails to my lips was not my cup of tea, so I’ve not tried the pink polish yet. I’ll be sure to be painting my toe nails in the pink soon and will report back but for now, I’m sticking to my pink lippy.

What do you think of this make-up look? Do you like the pinks? And would you go for matching?
